INSTRUCTIONS FOR COLLECTOR SUBMISSIONS
- We prefer that coins be sent in 2 ½” x 2 ½” flips. (We will accept 2” x 2” flips). Please do not send coins with staples in the flips, as they can damage the coin. Additional flips are available from ICG.
- Please write the invoice number (the 6 or 7 digit number that starts with C and is in red at the top right corner of the submission invoice form) and the line number on a piece of paper and slide it into the flip. You need not describe each coin on the card as long as the submission invoice number and line number are on the inserted paper. Please do not write or put stickers on the flips.
- You must provide your own insurance for the coins until the coins are received at ICG. Please refer to the reverse side of the submission invoice form for more information about insurance.
- ICG urges you to ship your coins Registered Mail through the United States Postal Services (USPS). You will be able to insure each package for up to $25,000 (the maximum amount the USPS will allow).
- ICG will charge a flat rate of $24 per order (for insurance, Registered Mail, packaging and handling) for each order that we mail back to you—whether it’s 1 coin or 1,000 coins. We will insure the box for the dollar value you have placed on it up to $25,000 (the maximum amount the USPS will allow).
- If you are sending coins for 1-Day or 5-Day service, please write in large bold print “1 Day” or “5 Day” on the outside of the shipping box. This way we will know to open those boxes first.
- You may send more than one submission invoice form to us in a single shipping box, but please, only one Tier of Service per submission invoice form. (For example, Submissions Invoice Form # C000001 – 15 coins of various types (15-Day Tier) and Submission Invoice Form # C000002 – 8 coins of various types (Economy Tier) can be in the same shipping box).
- On the submission invoice form, fill in only the grid boxes (quantity, coin mintmark, coin year, denomination, etc.) that apply to the coins you are sending.
- Check the Tier of Service (E) and the Type of Service (F) you want, and then make your payment calculations (H).
- Make your check or money order payable to INDEPENDENT C.G. and include it with your order, or better yet, you may pay with a credit card.
- Sign and date each submission invoice form after reading ICG’s terms and procedures on the reverse side of the form.
- Keep the last (GOLD) copy of the submission invoice form for your records.
- For security reasons, please do not address boxes to Independent Coin Grading Company or to ICG. Instead, address your shipments to: INDEPENDENT C.G. Please do not write the word coin(s) anywhere on the outside of the box. For your own peace of mind, you may consider asking the postman for a receipt.
- ICG is now attributing all varieties to more than 60 major references. For the current list, please contact the Customer Satisfaction Department toll-free at 877- 221-4424 x203, or go to our website: www.icgcoin.com. There is also a flyer included with the kit that provides this information.
- ICG will credit your account for future grading service fees for any “no grades” on your coins, minus a $5 processing fee. (Coins of questionable authenticity or altered will always be charged the full price.)
